You can build it in a weekend.
Selling it is the hard part.
From Prompt to Profit is a practical system for AI-assisted builders: validate before you over-build, cut scope to something you can actually ship, and launch to an audience that's already waiting - instead of shipping into silence.

Building stopped being the bottleneck
AI tools removed the thing that used to filter out most side projects: the months of work. What's left is the part they were always failing at anyway - deciding what's worth building, for whom, and getting the first person to pay.
So the failure mode changed shape. Instead of never finishing, builders now finish quickly, launch to nobody, and quietly conclude the idea was bad. Usually it wasn't. It just never met a buyer.
- ✓ Test demand before you spend another weekend on features
- ✓ Cut scope to the smallest thing someone would pay for
- ✓ Build the audience while you build the product, not after
- ✓ Price it, charge for it, and handle the first real customers
This is for you if…
- ✓ You've built something with AI tools and don't know what to do next
- ✓ You have a folder of half-finished projects nobody has seen
- ✓ You keep adding features instead of asking anyone to pay
- ✓ You want a side project that earns, not another portfolio piece
Who's building this
I'm Carl Mills - a Microsoft-certified software engineer and cloud architect who builds and ships products with AI tooling, including everything on this site. I've made most of these mistakes at my own expense, which is the only reason the list is this specific.
Questions
Do I need to be technical?
No. If you can get an idea built with AI tools - Lovable, Bolt, v0, Cursor, Claude - you can follow this. The hard part it addresses is commercial, not technical.
I already have a half-finished project. Too late?
That's the ideal starting point. Most of the work is deciding what to cut and who to sell it to, and both are easier with something real in front of you.
What does joining commit me to?
Nothing. You get an email when it launches and founding pricing if you want it. Unsubscribe any time.
