For Wix users struggling with broken plugins, checkout errors, or apps that suddenly stop syncing. This guide explains what's happening and how to fix it - without needing to be "techy".

Who this is for

Wix site owners whose apps or plugins stopped working, bookings won't load, or checkout fails after updates or changes.

Typical problems:

Broken app connections

A plugin may "lose" its API connection after updates. We'll show you how to re-authorise apps so they sync again.

Checkout or booking failures

Some apps conflict with Wix Payments or Booking. We'll explain how to test and isolate the cause.

Conflicting plugins

Having multiple plugins doing the same thing (like email pop-ups) can cause clashes. We'll show you how to audit and simplify your setup.

Permissions & ownership

Some plugins require extra permissions. We'll show you how to confirm the right account has access.

1) Common Wix App Issues

App not loading

Clear Wix cache, disable conflicting plugins, and ensure the app is updated in your Wix dashboard.

Data not syncing

Check the app's API key hasn't expired or been revoked.

Checkout errors

Temporarily disable plugins one by one to see if checkout works. Payment plugins often clash with booking or cart apps.

2) Step-by-step fixes

Update or reinstall

Sometimes simply reinstalling the app refreshes its connection. Always back up settings before reinstalling.

Check permissions

Make sure the app has access to your Wix site and any connected services (Google, Mailchimp, PayPal, etc.).

Contact support

If the app is built by a third-party developer, Wix can't always fix it. Use the app's support link inside the Wix App Market.
